Italian design house Emilio Cavallini has designed a range of tights that it says are unisex and the styles are being snapped up by men, who make up two to three percent, or 20- to 30,000 – of the company’s customers.
The company’s vice president, Francesco Cavallini said: ‘When we started our online shop we noticed that a lot of tights sized medium-large were being purchased by men.…So I did a search on the Internet and discovered there is a cult following for mantyhose.’
The tights cost $27 and are made from a mix of cotton and nylon.
There were makers of men’s tights before Emilio Cavallini from the U.S. and Europe. St Louis, Missouri-based G Lieberman and Sons makes a range of men’s tights in large sizes – and with front zippers included – while high-end makers, Falke, stock sizes that fit men. Paris-based makers, Gerbe, feature a range of men’s sheer black and nude designs on their site, worn with gusto by suave models in white shirts.
Ladies, would you be ok if your man wore tights/mantyhose? Nothing about this to me exudes sexiness. Remember the post about the men wearing nail polish, well, he can wear his nail polish with his mantyhose. I can see Lil Wayne rocking these…can you?!?!?! 😀
Chanel’s creative director, Karl Lagerfeld, responded to the backlash that stirred after he mentioned that the Grammy-nominated artist Adele was ” too fat,” and explained that it was taken out of context and apologized.
This is what Lagerfeld originally said about Adele:
“I prefer Adele and Florence Welch. But as a modern singer she is not bad.The thing at the moment is Adele. She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice. Lana del Rey is not bad at all. She looks very much like a modern-time singer. In her photos she is beautiful. Is she a construct with all her implants? She’s not alone with implants.”
“I’d like to say to Adele that I am your biggest admirer. Sometimes when you take a sentence out of the article it changes the meaning of the thought,” Lagerfeld told Metro.
“What I said was in relation to Lana Del Rey and the sentence has since been taken out of context from how it was originally published. I actually prefer Adele, she is my favorite singer and I am a great admirer of her. I lost over 30 kilos over 10 years ago and have kept it off. I know how it feels when the press is mean to you in regards to your appearance. Adele is a beautiful girl. She is the best. And I can’t wait for her next CD.”

New York Fashion Week officially kicked off last night with the Heart Truth’s Red Dress Collection Fashion Show, a chance for celebs to take to the catwalk for a good cause.
The event has been taking place at NYFW since 2003, when US-based designers first partnered with The Heart Truth (an initiative that aims make women more aware of the danger of heart disease) to create a range of very special red dresses to raise awareness to the campaign.
This year the likes of Diane Von Furstenberg, Pamela Rolland, Marchesa, Alberta Ferretti and Jason Wu created gowns for a plethora of stars to wear. Taking a turn on the catwalk were the likes of Chaka Khan, Jenna Elfman, Minka Kelly and Gloria Estefan to name a few.
All the ladies looked lovely all dressed in red!

Best Actresses Oscar nominee for The Help, Viola Davis, showed a diffrent side of herself for the February 2012 issue of LA Times Magazine. I’m so loving her natural look, it suits her face to me…she looked absolutely stunning for this photoshoot!!!
Here are some highlights from the interview:
On liking characters that are underrated, slow burners: “Human life is about a culmination of moments, and 99 percent of those are quiet but powerful. I am always interested and intrigued with watching that.”
On nurturing her craft from a young age: “Even back when I was 11, I knew that Isabel Sanford from The Jeffersons came from the stage. I never watched the Oscars, but I watched the Tonys every year. I wanted to be onstage. I wanted to be like Colleen Dewhurst or Jane Alexander—one of those great ladies of the theater, doing Ibsen and Shakespeare.”
On the need for young people to be mentored to aspire to something fulfilling: “I am doing this out of necessity. If I am not the instrument of change, I can meander through this business and be the black woman who always has two or three scenes but with fabulous actors around me.”
Davis also talked to Vogue Contributing Editor Andre Leon Talley for an upcoming issue. Here are the highlights:
On using real-life experience to draw on for her role in the The Help.
“I have stories of being spit on. You have to realize I was in a predominantly white culture … And third grade was the worst because every day after school I would wait at the door and the bell would ring. And as soon as the bell rang I ran as fast as I could from the front door to my house, which was at least a mile away, because I would have eight to nine boys with sticks, bricks, anything they could find, who were ready to kill me.”
On what her mother told her about bullying
“She said, ‘Viola, I want you to take my crochet and needle and you put it in your pocket and if they stop you again you tell them you’re gonna [stab] ’em.'”
On how her life defined her career
“Having it hard made me build so much character … You have to actually say, ‘Is the world going to define me or am I going to define myself.”

In the latest issue of PYNK Magazine, ‘Love and Hip Hop’ Star, Emily B shows off her massive Christian Louboutin collection.
Below are some highlights of the interview:
What’s the most you’ve spent on one pair of shoes?
$5000. And they were special edition – crystallized, but I would never do it again. It would have to be a very special occasion. Other than that, I don’t want to spend over $3000. Never again.
Do you find that your passion for shoes influences you as a stylist?
It’s just a part of being a stylist. I love to shop, I love fashion, and I love girly things. Shoes are definitely an inspiration for me. I start off with the shoes and work my way up and around it.
Tell us about some of your entrepreneurial pursuits.
I’m actually starting my own clothing line, called Emily B. It’s going to be feminine, chic, trendy, and of course, affordable. I want to start a line that all women and young girls of all ages can wear and afford.
What’s the perfect PYNK girl shoe?
Every girl should own a good black pump, even if it’s just an open-toed pump. It’s versatile — she can wear it with anything, she can wear it with jeans, she can dress it up and wear it out with a cocktail dress…
I’m in love!
