Should Sesame Street Retire Elmo? @Wendywilliams Thinks So

How you doing Elmo?

Well not so good, Wendy Williams voiced her opinion about the “scandal” of puppeteer Kevin Clash during her Hot Topics segment. Her thoughts were, since we know the face/voice behind Elmo, the character needs to retire. When thinking of Elmo, scandal is attached to the name. Do you agree? Should Sesame Street retire Elmo?

In my best Wendy voice, THIS IS ONE BIG MESS!

Miami lawyer Jeff Herman has announced that a third man has filed a lawsuit against Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash, accusing him of sexual assault.

Herman refers to the third accuser as John Doe and said he was 16 years old when Clash allegedly sexually assaulted him.

John Doe documented his experiences in an unpublished book he wrote in 2009. A chapter of that book, according to his lawyer, is called “Tickled My Heart” and John Doe called Clash “Mr. Tickler” in it.

Sheldon Stephens, now 23, was the original accuser earlier this month, claiming he had an inappropriate relationship with Clash when he was 16 and Clash was 45. He then recanted his story and said Clash paid him $125,000 to do so.

Clash resigned from “Sesame Street” last week after a second accuser, 24-year-old Cecil Singleton, came forward saying he had an underage sexual relationship with Clash when he was 15. Herman is also Singleton’s lawyer.

Clash was the voice of Elmo for 28 years. His statement, upon resigning, was “Personal matters have diverted attention away from the important work Sesame Street is doing and I cannot allow it to go on any longer. I am deeply sorry to be leaving and am looking forward to resolving these personal matters privately.”

Clash’s lawyer, Michael Berger, said in a statement: “The cases and Mr. Clash’s reputation will be defended vigorously.”

The Real Preacher Wives Of Atlanta?

The Learning Channel (TLC) announced  yesterday that it’s partnering with True Entertainment, the production company behind The Real Housewives of Atlanta, for a new reality series with the working title Preacher Wives. It will follow the “First Ladies” of Atlanta area churches.

“We are excited to work with TLC to profile the lives of these strong-willed women,” True Entertainment president Steven Weinstock says. “With most praise in religious communities directed towards male preachers, we are thrilled to give these remarkable ladies the spotlight they crave and deserve.”

The series will not only follow the women as they play out their role as preacher’s wives in the congregation, but also give a view of their home lives and how they balance both roles.

True Entertainment’s Weinstock and Glenda Hersh will serve as executive producers. The production company’s projects also include OWN’s Season 25: Oprah Behind the Scenes and Unfaithful, Logo’s The A-List,  and Bravo’s Platinum Hit. TLC did not announce a projected airdate.

The series marks the network’s entre into the type of programming that has become the half-billion dollar reality gold of the Real Housewives franchise for Bravo, a formula that has been picked up by several other networks like VH1 and its Basketball Wives. SOURCE

Would you watch? I know I am! There will be foolery, so for the super sanctified this may not be the program for you. True Ent will not have a boring, all aboout Jesus and the kingdom type of show. After watching I might have to ask for repentance.

Speaking of preacher’s, take a look at this foolery/mockery/sham here…there are no words!

Eddie, I beg of you, take that smedium piece of carpet off of your head! You look like Karl from Slingblade!

Toni Braxton Chats It Up With Chelsea Handler

Toni Braxton stopped by the Chelsea Lately show last night and talked  about her new white boyfriend not knowing she’s also still dating her ex husband. So Miss was right….oh my!

Toni dished on her new boyfriend and her being surrounded by family a bit too much…

Thoughts about being in a winter wonderland

“I’m playing in the snow.  It’s great.  White people smell different.  I can’t explain it–but they just do.  He likes to go hiking–black people don’t hike.  He likes kayaking and stuff like that.  But other than that, it’s the same.”

On her inner slut

“I’ve gone out on a couple dates with my ex husband.  But the white guy I’m dating doesn’t know.  We [Toni and her white boyfriend] haven’t had sex yet.  I’ve been locked down for 10 years. I’m not comfortable with the slut in me yet.  I’m working on her though.”

Toni, please stop with the ignorant comments about white people. By the way she describes her man, you would like he’s from outer space…we get it, you’re new to the white world but from experience THEY ARE ALL THE SAME! 😀

OAN, check out clips from this Thursday’s episode where Toni let’s Tamar know who the real star of the family is and defends her decision to fire Vince as her manager.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Tamar no one is checking for you…just be the arm candy that you are intended to be! *SIGHS*

Comedy Central Airing Tribute To Patrice O’Neal

Comedy Central is paying tribute to the late comedian Patrice O’Neal by airing one of his acclaimed stand up shows ‘Elephant in the Room’ this evening.

A representative for the network told they are “broken up” about the passing of Patrice, who died on Tuesday morning following complications of a stroke he suffered in October. The network will be airing the show twice, once at 8pm and once at midnight, the latter version being uncensored.

The show, shot live in New York and later released on DVD saw the comedian cover topics such as smoking, harassment, cheating, vengeance and his love for animals – he told the audience, “Let me say this, I don’t know what the term is for an extreme animal lover, but I get sick when I see animals suffering and I know that’s contrary to popular belief somehow it’s spread out that black people we hate animals? Like we hate dogs and cats. How can you hate animals?”  The show also contained some of O’Neal’s famous crowd work, in which he’d often play couples and friends against each other with hilarious results.

Fellow comics are also pouring out their tribute to the late comic…

“RIP Patrice O’Neal. You made us laugh til we cried,” Sarah Silverman wrote on Twitter, one of many fellow comedians to pay tribute publicly to O’Neal.

“One of my favourite stand up comedians. So sad. RIP,” wrote Ricky Gervais.

“I started my career w/ Patrice O’Neal,” wrote Dane Cook, who posted a photo of himself and O’Neal to Twitter. “He was 1 of the best ever. Fond memories of road gigs, late night eats & laughs.”

Kevin Nealon wrote: “Patrice O’Neal. Patrice O’Neal. Patrice O’Neal. Patrice O’Neal. Patrice O’Neal. Patrice O’Neal. Patrice O’Neal. Can’t say it enough. RIP.” Another Saturday Night Live veteran, Seth Meyers, added: “RIP Patrice O’Neal. A day spent watching clips of him on-line is a day well spent.”

“Patrice O’Neal. So damn funny and so smart and such a giant heart,” wrote Bob Sagat.

O’Neal poked fun at Charlie Sheen at the latter’s Comedy Central roast, and this week, Sheen paid tribute to O’Neal on his WhoSay page.

“Patrice had that rare ‘light’ around him and inside of him,” Sheen wrote. “I only knew him for the few days leading up to the Roast. Yet I will forever be inspired by his nobility, his grace and his epic talent. My tears today are for the tremendous loss to his true friends and loving family.”

I’ve never seen any of his stand up shows but when he would do commentary for shows like I ♥ the 80’s, he was hilarious! He is survived by his wife, Vondecarlo; a stepdaughter, Aymilyon; a sister, Zinder; and his mother, Georgia.

Mariah Wants You To ‘Touch Her Body”

The diva is back and in a new way! Mariah Carey stopped by the Rosie Show on OWN a few days ago showing off her new body post Dem Babies. She says she’s lost 70 lbs these last 6 months. She can thank Jenny Craig for her new look, seeing as she is the new spokeswoman for the Jenny Diet Plan.

You know she had to make an entrance diva style but I’ll let you see it with your own eyes 🙂

During their conversation, she told Rosie about her shocking body transformation:

“In the beginning, when I first had the babies, I had so much edema… water and swelling. Most pregnant women have that just in their feet.  One day I was doing my thank-you notes and I noticed it started rising up the leg, so I had edema. … I didn’t think I would ever be the same person.”

The weight gain on affecting  her famous figure:

“The first week, I lost 40 lbs.… of just water.  It was just water, initially. When I started with the program, I lost at least 30 lbs. of weight that needed to be lost.”

She reveals that being pregnant was a rough experience:

“I had a really tough preganancy.  I was supposed to be on bed rest, but it was so bad that even bed hurt.  I learned a lot being pregnant, watching my body change.”

Her weight loss journey:

“The whole point of this is not just like: ‘Oh, hey, look at me and my weight loss, I’m fantastic.’ It’s really health. Like I said, I learned it when I became helpless and felt so vulnerable like never before in my life.”

With the new Jenny diet plan, Mariah says she plans to get back down to the size she was in the “Touch My Body” video.
